Interactive fit checker
Keycap Picker: Will These Keycaps Fit Your Keyboard?
Use this keycap picker to compare your keyboard layout and bottom row with included kit groups, find missing coverage, and plan the extras to check.
Pick your layout and bottom row, then either choose a known set or tick the kits the set includes. You get a verdict for each modeled requirement, suggested kit groups, and a color-coded map. Preset data reviewed May 2026.
What this keycap picker checks
The picker compares common layout requirements with generic kit groups. Its known-set options are examples of kit combinations, not a live catalog of named retail products. A covered result means the selected groups cover the requirements in this model.
Check the seller's kit diagram for the actual widths, quantities, and row shapes before buying. The picker cannot inspect switch mounts, verify stabilizer sockets, or measure clearance between a cap and a switch housing. It also cannot confirm that an extension kit is available to order.
Follow the keycap compatibility guide for those physical checks, then use keycap kitting and coverage to match the kit image to your keyboard.
Standard kits reference
- Base kit
- Standard ANSI base: alphas, F-row, ANSI Enter/Backspace, 2.25u L-Shift, 2.75u R-Shift (and usually a 1.75u R-Shift), arrows and a standard nav column. The minimum any set ships.
- Spacebar kit
- Extra spacebar lengths (often 7u, 6u, 6.25u, splits) plus the 1.5u mods that pair with a 7u spacebar.
- ISO kit
- Tall ISO Enter, short 1.25u ISO Left Shift + extra key, and the ISO backslash/hash key.
- 40s / extras kit
- 1u modifiers for 40%/ortho/HHKB, split Backspace, stepped Caps and other non-standard mods.
- Numpad kit
- Numpad legends incl. tall +/Enter and a 2u 0. Needed for full-size and 96%/1800.
- Novelties kit
- Decorative accent keys — never required for coverage, purely aesthetic.
- Ergo / uniform-profile kit
- Uniform-profile or ergo-specific extras for columnar split boards.
- Split-spacebar extras
- Split-spacebar caps (e.g. 2.25u+1.25u+2.75u). Rare; often a custom add-on.
